I visited last summer, having had a day between flights. The people there were very nice and showed me around, even though technically it was not open that day. A really interesting collection of artifacts from a fascinating time in Europe's recent history. The volunteers work really hard to maintain and improve the building. I was very impressed!

Hi, I served at Laarbruch in Eng Ops during the transition from Buccaneer to Tornado 1983/84 which was still the 'cold war' period. It is wonderful to see that you have built a museum there and I wish you every success.

What ever happened to the video that was made when we departed in 1998? Is it anywhere to be viewed?

Hi AllI served at RAF Laarbruch from 1975 - 78. The Phantom. Bucc and Jaguar period. Was then a rag packer SESection( Survival Equipment Section). My mate Pete Mitchell was in the M.T. My wife then was the Chinese girl(Sally) who made the curry puffs in the Malcom Club. One of the best postings I had. Would like to get in conatact with any other "rag-packers", that served between 1972- 1985. I will be visiting Laarbruch during 2010. Now living in Holland. |
