Lovely to see this site. Thanks for spending the time to create such memories. Whilst not a serving member, our 'brat-pack' crew of Trenchard Drive/Cochrane Way bicycle kids really enjoyed the early 80s between being ferried back to the UK via Wildenrath. *Happy Days*

I remember that in the early 70s there were two black soldiers who performed on the station and in the local discos (for example the PamPam in Goch) soul songs in the "Sam and Dave style". Very good show. But I don't remember their names. Does anyone know what happened to them?

I had my first taste of Germany at Laarbruch from 83 to 85, on good old 26 Sqn RAF Regt. The duty frees were for real and the darts were fairly accurate. I would really like to get back one day but this year is not on, who knows. Fred Stodden you are doing a great job with all of this, don't stop and do continue to have faith in old buggers like me, who will eventually come back for a visit.

Had a wonderful time at Laarbruch from Jan 86 -
Jul 89 and left very reluctantly for the MOD.
Perhaps the best tour ever in a long military
career. It was lovely to meet Rod and Cilly
Hawkins again at our 2009 re-union; the museum is
excellent and a fine tribute to a wonderful air
base.

A very impressive and lovingly designed museum which is well structured in history and equipped with a lot of original exhibits. The concept satisfied me and that took me becoming a member of RAF Laarbruch Museum. The following picture has been added to this guestbook entry: removed by admin |
